James Jennings
Actor
Hi my name is James Jennings
Born here in NZ, I grew up in west Auckland.
When I was about 5 years old I struggled with reading and found it really hard. It was really frustrating for me that my friends were better readers than I was and for that I didn't really like books too much.
I didn't like to read because I never found the right books that interested me.
Then I found my first awesome book! " The Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle
This book was so cool! It had amazing artwork in it and I love to draw.
From that book I started to enjoy comic books, short stories, fantasy, dungeons and Dragons, all kinds of different books that I liked!
Through books, I really started to enjoy performing/acting.
So I decided that I wanted to be an actor.
What's really awesome about being an actor is that I get to act as characters I remember reading in books as a child and perform them for films or theatre plays. It's a lot of fun and I really enjoy it. I got to play both Duffy and Scruffy once for the Duffy shows.
These days I read a lot of very cool books and plays for acting and now I've been invited to come to your school to share my experiences, have a chat and have some fun with you guys.
I'm really looking forward to it and can't wait to see you guys soon!
