Nicole Rex
Radio Presenter
Fakalofa lahi Atu! My name is Nicole Rex and I am a Radio Broadcaster. I have been a Radio broadcaster for fourteen years. I am a NZ born Niuean.
Growing up in Wellington, I had an older brother and two younger brothers. I used to read a lot to my younger brothers and the book I used to love reading them was Esio Trot by Roald Dahl. I loved Roald Dahl books because of the great adventures the characters would have. Later on my brothers had me read them Harry Potter books which I enjoyed too.
Reading was an important part of my life growing up because we didn’t have smart phones and fancy devices. We just had television and books and when television was boring we would read books.
Later on I went to University and I had to do a lot of reading to get my degree. .
Reading has also been important in my life because without it I wouldn’t be able to enjoy the career I have today. I have worked as a Radio broadcaster for Mai FM and Niu FM.
I have now moved on to managing a radio station. My work as a Manager means lots of reading of different things like budget documents and reports.
I am also a mother now and my children are 5 and 6 years old. They are learning to read. We like to go on adventures to the town library to pick out books for all of us to read. It is lots of fun to go to the library because everyone gets to choose their own book. Im looking forward to meeting you all soon!
