Police
Bryan Ward is a Community Constable for the Otahuhu area and has been a police officer for over 11 years. He is a 2nd dan Black Belt in Aikido, a Rugby coach, an avid reader and soon to be krav maga instructor. In 2000, Bryan and his colleague Hirone ran and cycled the length of the North Island in order to get a signed All Black jersey which was auctioned with other items to raise over $70,000 for 'Kidz First', the children's hospital in South Auckland for which he is now Ambassador. Bryan is also the national ambassador for Blue Light, has represented New Zealand/Auckland playing Gaelic football and was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship for his services to youth by Rotary in 2002. Bryan is keen to promote the benefits of 'reading and safer communities together' message to children and often has his companion 'Bobby' to help him promote this message when he visits schools (but not all the time :0) ) Bryan and Bobby is currently screening on Saturday mornings on Four - you can visit them on their website: www.bryanandbobby.co.nz
