Josiah Robertson
Josiah Robertson

Where are you from?
My name is Josiah Robertson born and raised in Otara, South Auckland.

What books did you love growing up?
I loved all Dr Seuss books, Goosebumps, and Where’s Wally

What do you love about reading?
I love reading to understand new words and love how my imagination would make the book a million times better. I also love pictures.

What inspired you to be an actor?
I started off as a hip-hop dancer but also had a passion to act and entertain. Once I saw the chance to try acting I leapt at it with open arms. I have a lot of friends that are actors and that inspires me every day.

Who are your real-life role models?
Anyone from New Zealand who are working overseas doing well. Beulah Koale who is part of the Hawaii 50 cast. Also, KJ Apa who is the lead role in Riverdale.

What do you look forward to most about touring in The Duffy Show?
I’m looking forward to inspiring the kids on and off the stage. I’m also looking forward to the learning experiences with my team and growing as an actor.

Janaye Henry

Where are you from?
Tauranga!

What books did you love growing up?
Anything by Dr. Seuss. I was absolutely obsessed with Harry Potter and also this book about a girl and her cherry dress. I would basically read anything I could.

What do you love about reading?
It can take you to another world and it is a way to understand how other people live. Reading improves your vocabulary, writing, understanding of other people and gives you knowledge. There isn't anything I don't love about reading really.

What inspired you to be an actor?
I love performing, I love being able to make an audience hear me, really hear me. I love the thrill of wondering how an audience will respond, learning how to replicate emotions for a character. Nothing specific inspired me, acting has always been something I loved.

Who are your real-life role models?
My mum, my dad and my sister! My parents are two of the most hard-working people I know who always encouraged me to chase my dreams. My sister is brave and one of the most caring and generous people I know. I hope as I get older I just get more like them.

What do you look forward to most about touring in The Duffy Show?
Meeting tamariki throughout NZ to promote reading and achieving! Also getting to travel our whole country is a pretty sweet perk.
